Privacy Policy

1. What this covers

This policy explains what information Tuitionverse ("we", "us") collects when you use this website as a student, parent, or tutor, and how we use it. By using Tuitionverse, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

• From tutors: name, email, phone number, city, subjects taught, fees, a short bio, and an optional profile photo.
• From students/parents: name, phone number, optional email, and any message sent when requesting a tutor's contact.
• Account data: if you create a login, we store your email address via our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication). We never see or store your raw password.

3. How we use it

We use this information to: show tutor listings to prospective students; connect students with tutors when a contact request is made; verify and approve tutor applications; and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Who can see your information

A tutor's name, subjects, city, fee, and mode of teaching are visible to anyone browsing the site. A tutor's phone number is not shown publicly — it is only shared after a student's contact request is reviewed. A student's contact details submitted through a request are visible to Tuitionverse's admin team and, where a match is arranged, to the relevant tutor.

5. Data storage & security

Data is stored using Google Firebase (Realtime Database, Authentication, and Storage for photos). Access is restricted using database security rules — for example, only an authenticated administrator account can view submitted contact requests. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

6. Data retention

We retain tutor listings and contact requests for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your data at any time using the contact details below.

7. Your rights

You can request to view, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. If you are a tutor, you can also request removal of your listing at any time.

8. Users under 18

Tuitionverse is intended to be used by parents/guardians on behalf of students under 18, or by students themselves with parental awareness. We do not knowingly collect more information from minors than is necessary to arrange a tuition contact.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
